Sisterhood
You are invited to become part of Temple Beth Israel’s Sisterhood. Our Sisterhood is an integral part of the congregation. Sisterhood works to make Temple Beth Israel an inviting and successful community by building friendships and sponsoring congregational projects and events. As the umbrella organization for women’s activities within our synagogue, Sisterhood events bring people together to help fill our educational, spiritual and nurturing (mitzvot-doing) needs. We give financial support to the Temple in the form of camp scholarships, B’nai Mitzvah and confirmation gifts, provide supplies to our kitchen, and donate Hanukkah candles to the Religious School classes. We sponsor a Sisterhood Friday night dinner and Shabbat service once a year. Our Gift Shop provided mezuzahs for the Temple doors and sponsors a giant Hanukkah Bazaar with outside merchants annually. We are also active in the community by supporting Project Angel, donating to the City of Hope, making blankets for Soldiers Angels, and sponsoring a Breast Cancer 3-day walker. We organize and provide a continental breakfast for our annual Mitzvah Day. Jessica Sigel is the 2009-10 Sisterhood President.
