BROTHERHOOD HAPPENINGS

Welcome to the first in a series of TBI Brotherhood Happenings!

Brotherhood Officers: President – Joel Beezy: Vice President (of Everything) – Mark Feinman: Treasurer – Simon Saul; Secretary – Steve Strumar.

Especially for newcomers (Welcome!) to our Temple, our activities include, but are not limited to, the following: BBQs at the beginning (FYI Day) and end of Beit Sefer year, Magic Night on the first Saturday of November (Nov. 5), Ushering during the High Holy Days, Super Bowl Party (Feb.6), Man of the Year (Ray Serafin, March 5) dinner organized by the Southwest Region of Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ), Brotherhood Shabbat (March 18).

This year, thanks to the efforts of Joel Beezy, past president and board member of Kiwanis of South Hills, Covina, free tickets are made available to children to attend Clippers’ games. For more information, please contact Joel at 909-593-4069. “To help one child at a time” is Kiwanis’ motto, as quoted by Joel.

We are annually pleased to contribute to the Campership Fund for our Beit Sefer students. This year, we increased our contribution to $2,500. Among the other contributions made this year are: Operation Lifeshield, protecting the residents of Sedorot, Israel from Hamas’ rockets, Jewish Books for Poland’s Jews, Haiti Relief, Youth Maccabees, and AFMDA for the recent Mt. Carmel fires in Israel.

Simon Saul.
