Committee News and Programs at TBI
At Temple Beth Israel there are many opportunities for each and every congregant to be involved with the temple community. Congregants can participate spiritually with Judaism, while forming friendships that last a lifetime.
Social Action Committee  
The mission of the Social Action Committee is to make Judaism's committment to the principles of Tikun Olam an integral part of everyday life within the temple. The committee meets monthly to organize projects and events that educate the congregation and provide meaningful experiences through which we can repair our world. Outreach  
Helping to integrate inter-married families and Jews by Choice into the congregation with a warm welcome. The Outreach Committee sponsors programs like “Shabbat Shalom and Bring it Home” which help create traditions that last a lifetime. Read more about Outreach in our Interfaith section.
Chavurah  
Over 15 Chavurot are currently active with new ones under way. Especially effective for the new congregants, the Chavurah program can give you an instant connection into the TBI family. Our current Chavurah coordinators are Chuck and Kandy Fisher. Contact the temple office to register for the Chavurah Program.
Membership Committee  
Finding a new home for your family includes a new home for your spiritual being. The membership Committee welcomes new families into our congregation with warmth, understanding and love.
Library Committee  
This energetic group of members has created a lively home for the thousands of books that get checked out by both young and old. A weekly exchange program for the children in Religious School allows them to browse the selection with the help of a knowledgeable assistant. Ritual Committee  
All facts of Temple life center around the Ritual Committee’s planning of events large and small. The ritual Committee assists the Rabbi, creates policy and helps guide Temple Functions.
Building and Grounds Committee  
Are you one ot the lucky few that can turn a screwdriver, paint a wall or help specify what kind of garden to plant? The Building and Grounds Committee has their hands full updating, fixing and planning.
Bikkur Cholim, Nichum Avelim  
Healing the sick, attending the bereaved. This committee helps soften the impact and lends support during important life cycle events within each of our lives by touching the hearts and souls of Congregants during their time of need.
